The Links - Designed by Gary Player MEDIA RELEASE: TWO PROTECTED TORTOISE SPECIES FOUND ON THE LINKS GOLF COURSE AT FANCOURT Host venue for the 2003 President's Cup, 2005 Women's World Cup and 2006 SAA South African Open. Restricted to members & their guests, with limited access to resort guests. Located on the Garden Route at the foot of the spectacular Outeniqua Mountains, The Links was officially opened just over 10 years ago by course designer Gary Player. Inspired by Scotland's famous links courses, here Player and his design team have created an authentic links test on what was once the site of an airfield. Unique to South Africa, The Links presents undulating windswept terrain and dune-style landscape, with the tees and fairways a combination of four cool season grasses.
